Meet Our Doctors

Meet Our Orthodontists

Dr. David Vu

Dr. David Vu was born in Vancouver, but is now an Albertan of 12 years. He studied at the Universities of British Columbia and Alberta where he obtained his B.Sc, D.D.S. (dental degree), and M.Sc in Orthodontics where he collected many academic and research scholarships and awards. His research focused on the effects of dentofacial orthopedics on serum growth markers and sleep studies in children.

Creating meaningful personal relationships and providing positive results for his patients is what motivated David to pursue specialty training in orthodontics. He experienced these relationships first hand while he worked as a dentist in Northern Alberta for five years before he returned to complete the Orthodontic Residency Program at the University of Alberta where Dr. Vu is also still actively involved academically. During his off time, he enjoys playing video games, sipping coffee, and exploring new foods and restaurants with his wife. He also loves road trips through the mountains and trying out new things.

David’s recent personal orthodontic experience has given him the insight to relate to his patient’s perspective. Creating your very own smile is an exciting process and a journey well worth it. A beautiful smile is contagious and leaves a positive lasting impression. Whether it is to share stories, or to embark on a journey towards a new smile, David is excited to meet you and your family! Book your virtual consultation with My Legacy Orthodontics and discover how David can improve your dental health today.

Then, she was selected as the Chief Resident at Stony Brook University, New York. At the University of Alberta, she obtained her Master of Science in Orthodontics.

Both general residency programs and orthodontic school diversified her skills and knowledge in full-mouth rehabilitation and cosmetic dentistry. She has a well-rounded, collaborative approach to oral health and beauty. Dr. Nam is also teaching orthodontics to dental students at the University of Alberta. Dr. Nam recommends seeing an orthodontist around 7-8 years of age to see if any early intervention is needed to solve potential problems in the future.
